4 PH Airports Considered Among the Best in Asia

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport made it out of the top 20 worst airports in the world. NAIA also escaped from the list of the top five worst airports in Asia. Aside from this good news, four provincial airports in the country have made it to the top 25 best airports in Asia.

Here are the airports considered as one of the continent’s best.

Iloilo International Airport

The Iloilo International Airport is also known as Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Iloilo. Located in Iloilo city, the airport serves as the aerial transport terminal in the regional center of the western part of the Visayas region.

The airport is also known as the fourth busiest airport in the country. The new Iloilo International Airport acquired its International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) codes.

Mactan-Cebu International Airport

The new Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) Terminal is set to help in decongesting the country’s second biggest airport. It has been dubbed as the Philippines’ first “resort airport” after world-renowned Filipino architects and designers Kenneth Cobonpue, Budji Layug, and Royal Pineda took part in its architecture and design.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) carried out a project for the new terminal, set to consist of a three-storey building spanning 65,500 square meters. Transportation Secretary Tugade expects the terminal to handle around eight million passengers every year. Right now, it can handle 4.5 million passengers.

Clark International Airport

Clark International Airport (CRK) is buzzing as the New Clark City revolves around it. Part of the Build, Build, Build program of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is to construct new terminals for the CRK.

Similar to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), Tugade foresees the Clark airport to manage an 8-million passenger capacity per annum.

Davao International Airport

The Davao International Airport is also one of the busiest airports in the Philippines. It’s also one of the busiest airports in the Mindanao area. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines operates the Davao airport.

At present, it serves the area of Davao City and currently serves as the hub for airlines Cebu Pacific and Airphil Express. People commonly refer to it as the Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Dabawor the Francisco Bangoy international Airport.

These airports paint a picture that seems to say that the country is on its way toward the right direction. International recognition, after all, creates a good impact for the country’s tourism rate.
