President Rodrigo Duterte has apparently had enough of Philhealth interim president and Chief Executive Officer Celestina Jude Dela Serna’s lavish lifestyle.
Malacañang on Monday (June 4) released the document approving the nomination of Roy Ferrer as Philhealth’s new president and CEO.
The paper, dated June 1, was signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
Dela Serna has come under fire over her excessive travels and accommodation expenses.
The Commission on Audit found that she spent P627,000 for her travels to and from Bohol despite being posted at Philhealth’s central office.
Negros Oriental Rep. Arnulfo Teves also claimed that Dela Serna had bragged about staying in a Metro Manila hotel with a room rate of around P3,800 per night for almost a year.
Dela Serna’s lived a lavish lifestyle despite Philhealth incurring a massive net income loss of P8.92 million in 2017.
