Microsoft Corp. Apologizes To KSA For Unintentional Bing Translation

Microsoft Corp. lost its reputation in translation to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia . Like the word Pinay that was made to mean “maid” not so long ago, it is the Saudis turn to be mad when Bing translation had inadvertently made the word “daesh” to mean Saudi Arabia in its engine.

Microsoft Corp. has formally issued an apology to KSA, calling the error unintentional.

Daesh (die-EESH), which is an acronym for Dawlat al-Islamiyah f'al-Iraq w Belaad al-Shan, is the  Arabic term for what  English speakers translate as the Islamic State. Therefore, translating Saudi Arabia Daesh comes off as offensive to the entire country.
