Palace: 'Ramos needed to resolve West PH Sea dispute'

THE Duterte administration did not receive any resignation letter from former President Fidel Ramos or any formal communication indicating his intent to back out as the Philippines’ special envoy to China, Malacañang said on Monday.

In a statement, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the “stature and expertise” of Ramos are needed to address the conflict between China and the Philippines over the contested South China Sea.

Andanar also dismissed that Ramos no longer has any role to seek ways to end the maritime dispute between the two countries.
