In what could easily be one of the most disturbing videos ever released by the Russian Interior Ministry, a 35-year old Russian mother confessed to attempting to sell her own 13-year-old daughter’s virginity for one and a half million Russian Rubles (around PHP 1.3 million).
“We came to Moscow [from Chelyabinsk] to get to know a rich man, in order to get financial help for providing sexual services by my daughter,” confesses Irina Gladkikh, who will henceforth be known as the cruel Russian mother who, given the chance, would have scarred her own daughter for life in exchange for money.
Luckily, the contact Gladkik thought were rich businessmen willing to pay over a million rubles for a night with a virgin 13-year-old, were actually police officers in disguise. The deal was sealed, and this poor excuse for a Russian mother received her one and a half million roubles.
That’s when authorities revealed themselves.
Right then and there, at a floating restaurant in Moscow, the sting operation ended successfully. Gladkikh and her 25-year-old friend (and criminal accomplice, apparently) were arrested. Said friend also readily confessed to the crime, admitting that their aim was ‘selling the right to have the first night’ with the 13-year-old girl.
The poor girl, meanwhile, was immediately sent to the hospital.
Reportedly, authorities speculate that Gladkikh, who, by the way, also has a young son, and her friend also made a living by selling their own bodies.
Sadly, selling someone’s virginity seems to be a not-so-rare way to earn some quick money. Recently, reports circulated about a 16-year-old who tried to auction her virginity online.
“I decided when I was 16 that my virginity was precious. I wanted a good education so I started looking on the web for ways to finance my studies and I came across a series of auction adverts and found there were girls who had sold themselves for £3.1 million (€3.5 million) so I decided I would do the same when I turned 18,” the 16-year-old told the media.
