POLICEMEN arrested a Chinese national who has allegedly turned his rented home into a laboratory that manufactures fake alcohol.
Robert Tiu Ten was arrested in his rented place in Tondo, Manila on Monday, March 23.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Debold Sinas said they seized various equipment for the manufacturing of alcohol.
“The operation stemmed from the complaint of the neighborhood and barangay officials regarding the illegal alcohol warehouse. Upon responding to the complaint, the operation resulted in a positive result and the discovery of the warehouse making/producing fake/illegal alcohol,” Sinas said.
“It was indeed disappointing to know that despite our ongoing commitment to address the coronavirus pandemic, some rogue opportunists are eager to take advantage of this crisis…
We call for the vigilance of the public. Be extra careful with the fake items that are being sold. We might end up in danger rather than protecting our loved ones. Nevertheless, constant social distancing, home quarantine and proper hand washing are best precautionary measures to fight the virus,” he added. (SunStar Philippines)
