Food and Drug Administration Warns The Public Of Unregistered Drug Products

The public is warned  against consuming two unregistered drug products that are found to be present in the market by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The Food and Drug Administration noted that the presence of Paracetamol, Caffeine and Aspirin Powder (A Ka Fen San); and Natural Vitamin E (Aswan) Soft Capsule in the market despite being unregistered.

“We are advising the public against the use of the following unregistered drug products,” said the FDA.

It stressed that consuming products that are not yet registered in the market may pose potential health hazards to the public.

“These pose potential danger or injury to the consuming public,” said the FDA.

The FDA directed its personnel from the Field Regulatory Operations Office (FROO) to make sure that the unregistered products will be removed from the market.

All local government units and law enforcement agencies are also requested to ensure that the unregistered food products/supplements are not sold or offered for sale in their localities or area of jurisdiction.

Similarly, the FDA warned drug establishments and outlets against making available the said unregistered products to consumers.

The importation, selling or offering for sale of such is in direct violation of Republic Act 9711 or the FDA Act of 2009, said the FDA.
